Who we are
Just Rifles began with solicitor Bryan Fugler reserving two seats in the box at Spurs for every home game, specifically for Riflemen and women. He did this in memory of family friend Lance Corporal Thomas Keogh who was shot and killed in action in Sangin, Afghanistan. Amongst those who joined Bryan, a conversation about the everyday needs of ex-soldiers began. Bryan wanted to do more to help, and the seed of the Just Rifles idea was born.
How we help
We are proud to say that Just Rifles has become established as the military charity with the personal touch. From household items and bespoke sporting equipment, to supporting former soldiers retrain and find employment when they enter civvy street. Just Rifles is here to plug the gaps in one-off, everyday needs as well as long term support so former soldiers that have experienced mental or physical trauma can begin to rebuild their lives.
Who we are
Spread a Smile brings joy and laughter to seriously ill and hospitalised children and their families during long and often difficult hospital stays.
How we help
Our team of magicians, musicians, artists, therapy dogs, and more visit hospital bedsides across the UK, transforming fear and isolation into moments of respite and happiness. In 2025, we’ll reach over 17,000 children in 39 NHS hospitals and 6 hospices.
We host outings and events that include parents, carers, and siblings, creating joyful, lasting memories when families need them most. Our art initiatives, including hospital murals and personalised radiotherapy masks, help make treatment, and hospital spaces, less daunting.
Every visit from Spread a Smile is a reminder that joy still belongs, even in the darkest moments.”
